Yamaha MSR800W 800 watt of Subwoofer Power for PA systems
As today’s music becomes progressively more bass-heavy, portable PA systems—just like their permanent counterparts—are increasingly called upon to provide sufficient low frequency support. Yamaha Professional Audio answers that demand with the MSR800W powered subwoofer.
Yamaha MSR800W The MSR800W delivers 800 watts of power in a low-profile enclosure, making it an ideal addition for mobile DJ systems, clubs, schools, houses of worship and other loudspeaker systems where low frequency augmentation is desired. The ported bass reflex design maintains high efficiency and low distortion. The 15” driver can provide up to 122dB SPL (1w @ 1 M), and with an overall frequency response of 40Hz to 120Hz, it can withstand the most demanding program material. The internal 800-watt amplifier uses Yamaha’s EEEngine Technology to maintain efficiency, low current draw, low heat and reduced weight. “Yamaha built the MSR800W in the same tradition as the Club V and BR Series,” states Wayne Hrabak, marketing manager, Yamaha Professional Audio. “It’s compact, convenient, and, best of all, high quality and high performance.” Cabinets are constructed of sturdy Birch ply and covered in a black epoxy finish. Connections include balanced XLR A & B input connectors, balanced XLR A/B/THRU outputs, and balanced XLR High Pass/A&B output connections. Controls include Master Level, Power, Phase and Cutoff Frequency (80 Hz to 100 Hz). An integrated pole mount is provided for adding a full-range cabinet above the MSR800W. “Just listen to the radio today, and you’ll hear that certain musical genres require solid bottom end,” states John Schauer, product manager, Professional Audio. “The MSR800W packs plenty of punch into a compact enclosure, without the need or hassle of external amps.”
