Yamaha M475TM P600S and P600QA Acoustic Upright Pianos
Yamaha Corporation of America, Piano Division, introduced two new "S" Series pianos and three new "U" Series pianos, as well as new finish options for a range of uprights, at Winter NAMM 2006.
Yamaha introduced additional models in the "U" Series at Winter NAMM 2006. These pianos offer a variety of upgraded cabinet features for an enhanced appearance, as well as upgrades in the string wire and hammer design for improved sound. Three new models - the SU1, SU3 and SU5 - will be available in March 2006. Produced at the Yamaha plant in Kakegawa, Japan, these new "super" U series pianos target accomplished home piano players whose space limitations preclude the purchase of a grand piano.
NAMM show participants will also get their first glimpses of various upright pianos in high gloss finishes, including the M475TM 44" gallery collection acoustic upright, the P600S 45" professional gallery collection acoustic upright, and the P600QA Queen Anne style 45" professional gallery collection acoustic upright.

Yamaha S Series grand pianos are handcrafted from the finest materials to the highest professional standards in the Yamaha concert grand workshop. Incorporating a host of recent advances, today's redesigned S series grands offer concert-quality features and performance for the most demanding pianists.
The new "S" models, the S4B and S6B, benefit from manufacturing innovations that improve both the sound and look of the instruments. First, the process for cutting the material used for the inner rim and key bed have been modified, resulting in a richer and deeper base tone. In addition, changes in middle treble wire diameter and overall hammer design will enhance the tone of both models.
In terms of design, improvements to the shape of the music desk and a redesigned look to the S Series emblem on the plate convey a more sophisticated look, reflecting consumer requests for a more attractive and stylized appearance. The S4B and the S6B will be available in January 2006.
