Yamaha Clavinova YTV Piano Instructional Video SupportYamaha Corporation of America, Piano Division, has unveiled Clavinova YTV, a ground-breaking Web-based product support program. Offering an extensive library of instructional video clips via web streaming, Clavinova YTV is an ideal product education alternative for teachers, students, liturgical music directors and Clavinova enthusiasts of all levels.Produced by MIDItainment, the company that created Yamaha’s highly successful Watch & Learn video and DVD titles, YTV includes demonstrations that use a simple, “how-to” approach that breaks down the basic, intermediate and advanced operations of the Clavinova digital piano. Detailed, close up images are portrayed, along with step-by-step instructions to show users precisely which buttons to press and what to look for on the instrument’s LCD screen. By accessing the Web via a broadband Internet connection, users can experience a host of product lessons under the guidance of several of Yamaha’s top Clavinova specialists, such as Tom Folenta, Craig Knudsen, Jason Nyberg, Cam Shearer, Dennis Stanfill and Shana Kirk. These include hundreds of basic music instruction lessons, as well as Clavinova performance tips and tricks that can be enjoyed by users in the comfort of their own homes. “YTV’s convenient, web-based program will help ensure users’ success and satisfaction with their Clavinovas, no matter what their level of musical experience,” states Jim Levesque, Clavinova Marketing Manager. “Just about anyone who purchases a Clavinova and needs support will find value in this series.” YTV additionally offers special features that guide users through exercises in orchestration, music theory and specific playing styles, such as Jazz or Rock. Computer connectivity and software options are also explored. YTV requires a broadband high-speed Internet connection for access; upcoming iterations will offer DVD source options for members at a low price. More than 1,000 total product video clips are planned, most of which will run from three to eight minutes in length. YTV libraries for the Portable Keyboard, Saxophone and Guitar product lines are currently under development. Continuing to challenge the boundaries of multimedia communication, Yamaha will also debut Y-Casting, an innovative method that enables i-Pod users to download instructional audio and video podcasts to their personal i-Pods each month, free of charge. Topics will include operations, computer connectivity, music education, understanding MIDI, audio recording and much more. The podcasts will be easily searchable and downloadable from the Apple iTunes music store. YTV and Y-Casting are expected to be available in May 2006.
