Harrison Magic on Track: Harry Potter post production on MPC ConsoleHarrison puts the Magic on Track at Shepperton Awaited Harry Potter sequel finishing up post production on MPC ConsoleAs this is being written there are a little time until the November 15th US premiere of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The film is the long-awaited sequel to Harry Potter and the Sorcereršs Stone which holds the number two spot for all time box office receipts, according to boxofficereport.com. To date the original Harry Potter has taken in 967.1 million dollars, leaving an enchanted audience apparently ready for more adventure with Harry Potter and friends. To be released in time to lead the pack of films to flicker on screens during the 2002 holiday season, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is in the final stage of post production at Shepperton Studios in the UK. The final sound track is being mixed on the Harrison MPC console in Theater Four at Shepperton. The same highly talented team which mixed the original Harry Potter film, industry veterans Ray Merrin and Graham Daniel, are again paired at the MPC to lay down the tracks for this second of the expected four Harry Potter films. They are being joined by Rick Kline, with over 130 mixing credits to his name, most recently Blue Crush and notably Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Supporting what is undoubtedly a very complex mix, the award-winning duo of Mike Dowson and Mark Taylor worked on the Harrison MPC in Theater One at Shepperton preparing the premixes for the final mix. Dowson and Taylor brought home an Emmy award for their work on HBOšs Band of Brothers, also mixed in Theater Four at Shepperton. Randy Thom is contributing his sonic talents to the production. He holds over 50 Sound design and sound mixing credits including Cast Away and most recently Wind Talkers. Sound editing talents of Dennis Leonard are also included. Foreign language versions of the film are also being prepared at this time in the Shepperton Sound facilities. The crew is holding the details of the mix pretty close but according to Trevor Griffin, Chief Engineer at Shepperton Studios, the mix is "going very well."
