AMD processor-based platforms certified for Matrox realtime video editing and DVD authorin
Matrox Video Products Group today announced that it has certified AMD AthlonTM XP and AMD AthlonTM MP processor-based platforms for use with Matrox’s award-winning digital video editing and DVD authoring products.
The AMD Athlon MP processor featuring Smart MP technology has been certified on multiprocessor systems for the Matrox DigiSuite MAX family of products, designed for demanding broadcast and post-production applications. It has also been certified for the Matrox RT2500 bundle, designed for video enthusiasts, corporate communicators, and educational videomakers. In addition, the AMD Athlon XP processor has been certified for Matrox RT2500.
“With features such as multiple realtime 2D and 3D effects, realtime DV output, batch encoding of web streaming formats, and professional DVD authoring, Matrox DigiSuite MAX requires ultra-high performance from the CPU and overall computer system,” said Marco Lopez, Matrox director of products. “AMD Athlon MP processor-based platforms meet these high requirements, and at an affordable price that our customers can appreciate.”
“RT2500 users will greatly benefit from the processing power of the AMD technology,” added Patrick Beaulieu, Matrox RT2500 senior product specialist. “Our scalable TurboDV software-based export engine takes full advantage of the AMD Athlon processor-based platforms to deliver faster DV rendering speed than ever before.”
