Phil Collins adds Karma to his Keyboard CollectionPhil Collins has been a fan of Korg keyboards since acquiring the Wavestation in the late 80's. His most recent discovery - the new Karma workstation - joins the ranks of his impressive arsenal of Korg gear, which also includes the 01/W, the Trinity, and the TRITON.Collins is using the Karma to write new material, as well as using it to freshen up and expand grooves on some already existing material. Commenting on a few of Karma's features, Collins says, "The Karma drum grooves are fantastic, and I find the ease with which you can just shift the tempo and get it to loop invaluable for me. The loops are very stimulating I've always been big on atmospheric loops, and some of these just ooze all that atmosphere. They are very well put together. I'm also using the Karma as another sequencer to sync up with the TRITON, Trinity and 01/W." Phil Collins gained early recognition for his work with the band Genesis, and went on to achieve further success as a solo artist. He continues to be an influential and internationally respected artist, and has a new album slated for release next year. The unique Karma sound will be heard on this upcoming album, fitting in perfectly with the familiar array of Korg keyboards he uses to showcase his songcrafting talents.
