This isn't for techno. . . it's for putting sounds down. In "the day," the entire Sgt Peppers album was done on a 4-track. What's the point ? This is a piece of gear that makes all of today's hard--disk recording gear make sense. It isn't for production, it IS for getting it out of your head, through your fingers (or mouth) and onto tape. . . and there are cheaper models than the MkIII. But the MkIII reminds you that it should be possible to do a Sgt Peppers-quality recording. and. . it would be a shame to do several takes just because the recording device could only record 2 out of the 4 tracks at once.

You simply cannot go wrong with the 424 mkIII and the TASCAM name. If you're shopping around for a good analog multitracker, which is affordable but which packs a lot of features and very good sound quality then you simply can't go wrong with the mkIII. You won't be sorry
