Dynamic Range: what is Dynamic Range?
The dynamic range of a piece of equipment, or signal, is the difference between the loudest and quietest sound possible. The dynamic range is usually expressed in dB.
The dynamics range value is usually a specification of audio equipment like, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, soundcards, digital recorders etc. It helps you to understand how that piece of equipment will affect the ‘quality’ or ‘realness’ when you will use it for recording.
