Waves MaxxBass 101 Full 19 in. Rackmount
MaxxBass 101 can be integrated in both new and existing sound systems, providing a complete MaxxBass solution with stereo analog inputs and outputs. Controls are provided for input level, frequency and intensity. In just a few minutes the system can be tuned for optimum bass performance for a wide range of speaker types. MaxxBass 101 also provides a lock button that freezes MaxxBass Frequency and Intensity controls after setting. MaxxBass provides a dramatic improvement in bass response and overall audio quality in systems constrained by budget, size or power consumption without increasing stress on the speakers or amplifiers. MaxxBass 101and 102 are the first MaxxBass hardware products for commercial sound installations such as: Public Address House of Worship Lecture Hall and Boardrooms Sound Reinforcement · Club Sound Multimedia Kiosk Waves patented MaxxBass technology uses psycho-acoustics to deliver the sensation of lower frequency response without exceeding speaker driver excursion limits, adding or changing speakers or amplifiers, and without increased power consumption. MaxxBass has only a few simple controls and indicators on its front panel. Controls are provided for input trim, MaxxBass frequency, MaxxBass intensity, bypass and lock. Indicator LEDs are provided to left/right signal presence, bypass, lock and power status. Why is MaxxBass Better? MaxxBass improves bass by utilizing the latest research in psycho-acoustics, the human perception of hearing, into the signal chain. Psycho-acoustics is the basis for modern compression technology such as MP3. MaxxBass has been shown to extend the perceived low frequency response by up to one and one half octaves, but it does not force the speaker to deliver these frequencies. MaxxBass also removes these low frequencies reducing peak power and speaker excursion requirements. Why Not an Equalizer? An equalizer can be used to boost the low frequency ange of the spectrum. Inherently EQs increase the relative volume at the lower end of the speakers frequency range. EQs provide little increase in bass frequency range and destroy the frequency balance of the original music. This boost, especially if the input is high, creates distorted sound, overloads the amplifier and the speaker. Over extended use there is a high likelihood of burning the speaker and/or the amplifier. Why Not a Subharmonic Synthesizer? A subharmonic synthesizer generates a signal component that is an octave below the lowest present frequency. Apart from requiring more amplifier power to deliver, these generated frequencies cause large speaker driver excursions that can result in the speaker "jumping the gap" or breaking apart.
