Digidesign New Pro Tools|24 MIX3 Power and Performance, support for 48 channels of I/O

Digidesign, a division of Avid Technology (NASDAQ: AVID) today announced the worldwide launch of Pro Tools|24 MIX3 - a new addition to the industry's leading product line that includes the Pro Tools|24 MIX and Pro Tools|24 MIXplus. The new Pro Tools|24 MIX3 (pronounced "MIX Cubed"), offers increased audio processing power and support for 48 channels of I/O. Comprised of the MIX Core and two MIX Farm cards, the Pro Tools|24 MIX3 will satisfy the most demanding session requirements. From audio post to music production, Pro Tools|24 MIX3 is vital for the professional who needs advanced flexibility, performance, and power for surround mixing and real-time DSP processing. The MultiShell II technology of Pro Tools 5.1.1 allows DSP sharing of various plug-ins and provides maximum use of Pro Tools|24 MIX3's extra DSP capacity. Pro Tools|24 MIX is now shipping with Pro Tools 5.1.1 software for Mac and Windows 2000. Effective April 23, 2001, customers who purchase a ProTools|24 MIX3 system from a Digidesign authorized dealer by June 30, 2001 will be eligible to receive a FREE bundle of TDM Plug-Ins (a value over (US INT'L) $3,978) to enhance their system. The package includes Maxim and DPP-1 from Digidesign, JOEMEEK Meequalizer VC5 and Classic Compressors by Bomb Factory, Amp Farm by Line 6, Access Virus by Access Music, and Tweetie/Woofie by Kind of Loud Technologies.
