Tascam 202MkIII Double Auto Reverse Cassette Deck
This dual cassette deck is ideally suited for both dubbing and continuous looping playback applications. Two twin-head cassette decks in a durable rack-mount housing can be used separately or in tandem during recording and playback. You need a deck that can quickly dub multiple copies of your cassette demos, speed the job of making composite tapes from multiple sources. And naturally, you'll want it to serve as a continuously looping playback deck, faithfully providing background music without having to turn tapes over each time a side runs out. The answer? The 202MKIII. In addition to high-fidelity sound reproduction and wide frequency response, it has an impressive array of features that help you dub, edit, record, or playback onto/from 1 or 2 cassettes with incredible ease and efficiency. It's an ideal mix of flexibility and cost-effectiveness for musicians and studio engineers on a budget. And because of its 3-unit rack-mountable design, you no longer need an extra adapter to add it neatly to your rack. Total Flexibility in Recording/Playback The 202MKIII allows the user to avoid constantly tending to the deck to flip over tapes and re-program the controls. Total control over the decks is accomplished at the touch of a few buttons. The REV MODE, SYNC REV, and PARALLEL RECORD buttons enable you to program how the 2 decks cooperate. The tape transport buttons and the tape operation section enable you to access either side of a tape cassette whenever you wish. This flexibility makes the202MKIII useful in a variety of recording and playback situations, without the need for constant tape flipping or recording set up. You can Play material on Deck 1 while Deck 2 Records, on one or both sides. You can record simultaneously on both decks from an external master. You can Play back both sides of 1 or both decks in a continuous loop, up to 5 times. An Auto reverse function automatically reverses tape direction during playback and record. Repeat rewinds tape and allows infinite looping during playback. 2 Recording Speeds While recording, use "real time," 1-7/8 in.-per second speed when you want to monitor the dub, or select 3-3/4 in.-per-second High Speed Dubbing when you want to save time or make many copies of a proven master. Excels at Editing Composite Tapes The 202MKIII's utilitarian design makes creating a professional-sounding composite tape from several sources quick and easy. INTRO CHECK, CPS (Computerized Program Search), BLANK SCAN, and One Program Skip functions make quick work of finding the beginning of tracks you want to dub without a lot of fast forwarding, reversing and monitoring. Between selections, push 1 button to get a consistent 4 second pause that marks your tape as the work of a professional. High-Quality Sound Reproduction To ensure your dubs will sound great on any sound system once they've left your hands, the 202MKIII features Dolby HX Pro. This quality sound technology extends high frequency performance and minimizes distortion on Normal, Metal, and CrO2 tape. And while recording, independent L/R stereo LED meters confirm youre recording sufficient level to tape. Advanced Monitoring And Playback Controls έ One Program Skip moves the tape to the beginning of the next tune with one touch of a button έ Blank Scan automatically FFs to start of next tune after detecting 10 seconds of silence on source tape in Deck 1 έ Intro Check FFs to the beginning of each tune and plays the first 15 seconds, saving you time when searching a tape for specific songs έ Record/Mute autospacer automatically inserts 4 seconds of silence between songs or broadcast segments for pro quality tapes έ REV Mode Switch gives you control over when PLAY or RECORD mode stops Φ at the end of 1 side of a tape, after both sides of a tape are played, or after both sides of both tapes are played or recorded έ Continuous Playback operation lets you play both sides of both Tape 1 and Tape 2, in sequenceαand repeat up to 5 times έ AUTO REVERSE changes tape direction during playback έ REPEAT rewinds and replays providing an infinite loop έ Timer switch for unattended recording or playback (commercial timer required for use with this function; not included) Power-Dubbing
