Harrison announces the sale of another TVD-SL, this time to local Nashville broadcaster WTVF, NewsChannel-5. The system, custom configured by WTVF's audio operators, contains 96 digital channels. Thirty-two motorized touch-sensitive input faders plus another 12 group and program faders provide a fast control surface in a mainframe that allows for expansion. System I/O provides: 16 Mic Prešs with remote input selection for 48 mics, 56-AES In-Out and 56-Analog In-Out. All signals feed a 224 x 224 digital router with a color-coded touchscreen interface. Twelve of Harrison's exclusive, built-in LCD video displays will take the place of a large monitor and have provided WTVF's room designers new freedom. These unique built-in monitors allow the operator to focus his eyes in the same plane as his console controls. WTVF is a news-intensive CBS station, privately held by Landmark Communications. It recently made history when it swept all of Nashville's news ratings. Landmark also owns over 100 newspapers, shoppers, college sports publications and other publications in the United States. Other holdings include the Weather Channel Networks (serving both domestic and international audiences), the Travel Network and KLAS-TV in Las Vegas. Tom Semmes, director of Broadcast Sales for Harrison commented about the sale: "I am delighted to welcome this hometown station as part of our broadcast family. WTVF is very important to us and although we provide the highest support to all our customers, there is always a special feeling for stations you grew up watching, I feel honored. We are especially proud to have won this order in view of the strong competition and demos of the competitionšs latest products."
