Judas Priest on tour with mixing engineer Kevin McCarthy and BehringerBEHRINGER Power User, mix engineer Kevin McCarthy once again mixes metal for Judas Priest as they storm the gates of the nations with their new album ANGEL OF RETRIBUTION and tour RETRIBUTION 2005.Kevin, a long-time BEHRINGER Power User; was one of the first to use the Tube Composer T1952 and has heavily adopted BEHRINGER products on his worldwide pro tours. “My main piece of gear is always the Tube Composer that I use on Rob Halford’s vocal mic. I use it in two different ways. I split the channel on my desk so one feeds the stage monitors and the other does his in ear monitors. One side of the Tube Composer I use for a natural warm compression in his ears and the other I use in a ‘downward expansion’ so I can have maximum gain before feedback in the floor and side fill monitors for the other members of the band.” Kevin also tours with the AUTOCOM PRO XL MDX1600, COMPOSER PRO XL MDX2600, MULTICOM PRO XL MDX4600 and ULTRACURVE PRO DEQ2496. On stage, he also uses the ULTRA-DI DI20 direct boxes and carries the MONITOR SPEAKERS MS16 and TRUTH B2031A speakers for monitoring. The RETRIBUTION 2005 U.S. headline tour started Monday, May 30 at The Blossom Music Center in Cleveland Ohio, with Queensryche as the special guest on the tour. To date the tour has hit Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany, the United Kingdom, Holland, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Portugal and Spain. The tour, Judas Priest’s first full headlining U.S. tour since the release of 1990's Painkiller, features the definitive lineup – vocalist Rob Halford, lead guitarists Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing, bass guitarist Ian Hill and drummer Scott Travis.
