I am having some major midi issues. I can't get my mpc 2000xl to transmit midi data for edit on the roland si logic rpc. I also tried recording my midi keyboard but for some reason logic rpc did not detect the midi device. MY MIDI CONECTION IS CORRECT, BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT I GOT THE MPC TO CONTROL THE MIXER(roland si). however the mixer can not record the midi data. can I get some help on how to get my setup to run properly. I am new to all this digital recording

Hey Deeshotdoran,

I seem to be having the same problem with my SI-24 and Roland XP-30 synth. . . Although Logic seems to be receiving MIDI trough the MIDI-in port (eg. I'm able to control soft-synths), my MIDI-out port is dead. I can't extract the sounds from my synth, using the synth itself as a master keyboard.

I've "upgraded" to Logic Platinum 5. 5. 1. , and although I can control it using the SI-24, just the same as Logic RPC Pro, I still have the same problem. For some reason I can't assign a MIDI-out port in the Instrument Parameter box on the left side of the Arrange window, simply because there's nothing to choose from! From other Logic users I know there should be some sort of drop-down menu displaying all the available MIDI ports, but Logic RPC Pro (and Platinum 5. 5. 1. ) doesn't seem to have that.

Hopefully some other (more experienced) user reads this and shares his knowledge with us!

Good luck! Let me know when you make any progress!

Jerome
