The Power Chord in Dance and Techno Music
Although the power chord is and was a typical rock chord it has always been a little more. In many music types the power chord has always been the chord to use when the major chord, minor chord or other chord doesn’t seem to fit.
In rock, punk and metal this is even more important changes between minor and major chords seem strangely out of place and do never sound powerful enough.
Over the last ten years the power chord has become a foundation in dance and techno music too. A power chord has the ability to make a single note bass line sound much stronger.
