Piano and Keyboard Music Basics
Let's get started by looking at some of the basics of your piano or keyboard. Take a look at the next sheet music and piano layout. The piano layout chart shows an 88 key piano. A normal piano has 88 keys. Most keyboards usually have 88, 76 or 61 keys. When a keyboard doesn't have all 88 keys it usually has the higher notes (on the right) and some of the lower notes are not available.
Try playing this next note and look at the sheet music. Don't worry about understanding the sheet music yet, we'll look at how sheet music works later.
