Songwriting: complex Songwriting and Composing
Following rules is easy. Learning music theory is not that difficult. Trying to write a simple song is not that hard. Composing for a television series is usually not that difficult. But trying to explain how advanced songwriting works or composing, is not easy at all.
If you would just have to explain how to use a scale, or general music theory rules, it would be something I could do in a few pages. But explaining how to write a song or composition that would be considered a classic or masterpiece would be a masterpiece on its own. So instead of focusing on music theory or rules I’m going to explain some of the concepts and ideas in advanced songwriting and composing.
First let’s start by stating: It’s about music theory and rules and it’s not.
