Echo24 driver version 5.54 beta
Echo has released a new driver for the Echo24 family of cards: Mona, Gina24, and Layla24. This is a beta driver; it will not be supported by the company
This driver is identical to 5.54 except for one small change to fix GigaSampler/Studio pitch problems and another small fix to get rid of nasty bursts of horrible noise while using GigaSampler/Studio. If you aren’t using GigaSampler or GigaStudio you shouldn’t bother to install this driver.
If you have already installed the previous 5.54 beta driver, all you need to do is copy the new VECHO24.VXD into your Windows system directory (normally c:\windows\system). If you haven't already installed 5.54, follow the directions below.
If you right-click on the VECHO24.VXD file and select Properties, you can look at the Version tab to see what you have installed. The version for this driver should be "5.54.0 (GSIF fix)".
Bug fixes: The doubled-pitch with GigaSampler and GigaStudio should be fixed. There should also be fewer bursts of nasty noise.
Known bugs: S/PDIF doesn't work at 88.2 or 96 kHz.
GigaSampler/GigaStudio currently do not work with multiple cards supported by the same driver; that is, if you have more than Echo24 card in your computer, you will only be able to use the first one that GigaSampler/GigaStudio detects. This is a limitation of GigaSampler and GigaStudio; Nemesys has informed us that they will be coming out with a patch that corrects this problem.
If you start your computer with the Layla24 box turned off, Windows can take a long time to start.
GigaStudio and Cubase VST don't run together in multi-client mode. This may or may not be fixable on our end.
