Emagic develops web-connected 8-track recorder TC8
Emagic, one of the world's leading suppliers of software and hardware for music production, once again shows its creative lead as a developer of innovative technologies. Emagic has now developed a web-connected 8-track recorder exclusively for the Californian Internet company Tonos — the Tonos TC8.
In parallel to this, Tonos has developed a new server architecture that provides all Tonos TC8-track users with a virtual market place, called the Collaboratory, in which to exchange ideas and projects. This combination means that musical cooperation will be easier than ever before.

The target was to develop a technology that allows musicians around the world to produce demo-tapes with their own computer at home, and then to send it directly to Tonos. Carole Bayer-Sager, Grammy-awarded founder of Tonos, describes the cooperation between the two companies thus, "We all agreed we needed something as simple as 'Click, Sing, Send.' We were thrilled that Emagic shared our vision and created the Tonocorder with us."
With the Tonos TC8, vocal and music tracks can be directly recorded and mixed onto eight discrete tracks. Integrated effects allow users to add a professional polish to the result, without the need of other recording equipment. Just a simple mouse click is needed to download preproduced audio files from www.tonos.com as a basis for songs.
