Waves and CMBE announce MaxxNet universal broadcast processor for radio and TV
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA --WAVES , the leading supplier of DSP software for the professional audio and multimedia markets, and CMBE, Inc., the leading consultants in broadcast audio processing today announced a partnership to bring the next-generation of integrated audio processing solutions to the broadcast industry.
The first product of this partnership is the MaxxNet Universal Broadcast Processor for radio and TV. MaxxNet coordinates and automates all audio processing including microphones, telephone audio, studio mastering to storage media, streaming processing, monitor processing STL pre-processing and network sweetening. MaxxNet optimizes overall system sound quality, while eliminating operator errors and re-dubbing requirements.
The system supports analog and digital inputs and outputs needs as well as custom presets for each facility based on operating levels and house standards. The system utilizes Windows2000 for control, but all audio processing is independent of the operating system using high performance audio digital signal processor (DSP) accelerators.
MaxxNet features Waves' award-winning software processors that are the standard for quality by professional mastering engineers and musicians worldwide. "MaxxNet builds on the strengths of Waves and CMBE," stated Gilad Keren, CEO Waves Ltd. "It combines many of Waves finest audio processing algorithms used in creating today's most popular music, movies and multimedia content with CMBE's strengths in customizing and optimizing set-ups for broadcasting and webcasting."
Customized audio processing and set-ups for MaxxNet are provided by Chip Morgan of CMBE. MaxxNet supports the stations favorite final processing for transmission as well as feeds to STL, satellite uplinks and phone lines. It also supports powerful and flexible microphone presets, so talent can have custom settings throughout the facility. Custom monitor processing provided eliminates delay and supports individualized monitor mixes fully independent of the air processors. This eliminates the poor sound in many broadcast monitoring systems.
"MaxxNet is the next generation solution for audio broadcast. It integrates and optimizes all audio processing requirements with both a high degree of control and the flexibility for individual requirements," stated Chip Morgan, President CMBE. "MaxxNet is ideally suited to the modern needs of supporting multiple locations with remote tuning and duplication of parameters using identical hardware and software. This insures control and complete compatibility, eliminating 'dueling processors' quality issues."
