The Stage Is Set for Yamaha MS400 Powered Loudspeaker System

ORLANDO, FL—Yamaha Corporation of America, Professional Audio, introduces the portable, high-performance MS400 Powered Loudspeaker System. Delivering 400 watts of built-in power, the MS400 is a compact, lightweight, bi-amplified speaker system that can be flown, stacked, pole-mounted or even used as a floor monitor. The unit is currently available.

The high frequency section of the MS400 contains a single 2-in. titanium compression driver coupled with a 90° x 60° constant directivity horn, and is driven by a 100-Watt power amplifier. The 15-in. transducer, equipped with a light neodymium magnet driven by a 300-Watt power amplifier, produces efficient mid and low frequency reproduction. Utilizing Yamaha's EEEngine Technology, the internal bi-amplified system maintains efficiency, low current draw, low heat and reduced weight.

"In keeping with our popular Club and Se Series speaker systems, the MS400 provides great sound for an installed or mobile application," states Wayne Hrabak, marketing manager, Professional Audio. "These powerful speakers are perfect for corporate and media presentations, small to medium sized venues or houses of worship."

In addition to uniform coverage and highly intelligible audio, the MS400 provides a wide (50 Hz - 16 kHz) frequency response. Cabinets feature independent MIC and LINE inputs, each with its own separate gain control. A 2-band EQ (Low, High) provides basic, effective tone control, while a Master Volume controls the overall output of the cabinet. Connectors include a balanced XLR for MIC input, plus 1/4-in. and XLR connectors for LINE input. A parallel output jack allows multiple speakers to be daisy-chained. Constructed of durable polypropylene, the MS400 weighs just over 50 pounds. Optional accessories include wall, ceiling and baton bracket mounts.

"Church audio staff, sound reinforcement techs and club crews will appreciate the MS400's high power and great sound in an easy-to-carry, lightweight cabinet," states John Schauer, product manager, Professional Audio.
