Crest amplifiers assure club utopia of sonic nirvana

- Five kinds of Crest amps power up the reopening of the Las Vegas Strip's largest free-standing club -
Crest power amplifiers were chosen as the main power systems for the reincarnation of one of the legendary clubs of the world. On December 30, 2000, Utopia reopened its doors as the largest free-standing nightclub/disco on the Las Vegas Strip. Inside, five different types of Crest power amplifiers assured the sound was also world class.

Utopia, built on the site of the former Metz club, which had previously owned the title of largest stand-alone club on Las Vegas Blvd. and the second-largest in all of Las Vegas, literally rose from the ashes in the wake of a fire last summer. Turning this misfortune into an opportunity, the club's ownership decided to completely refurbish the facility and upgrade its sound system. The choice of amplifier to power the new Utopia's audio was Crest. Throughout the club's main dance room, its three VIP lounges and its outdoor dance patio, five types of Crest power amps are used. They include five Crest Pro 9001's, four Crest Pro 8001's, two Crest Pro 7001's and two Crest Pro 4801's. In addition, a Crest CA-12 amp is used to power the monitors at the main DJ position in the club.

"We chose Crest simply because it's a great-sounding power amp," explained Scott Fisher, Owner of The Wave, the Las Vegas audio equipment sales & rental/system design company which created the sound system for the new Utopia. "The sound that the Crest amps put out is remarkably consistent, which helps give a club a signature sound. And Crest's customer support has always been there for us - and we've been using Crest amps for most of the nine years we've been in business."
