ILIO has announced the release of two new products at NAMM. The first is Analog Meltdown, a synth library produced by Kevin Wakefield, formatted for use with Akai and Kurzweil samplers.
The second release of ILIO at NAMM is Hot Steel Blues, produced by Dan Portis-Cathers and a follow up to his Fingerstyles CD-ROM.
Hot Steel Blues features over 800 phrases divided into Patterns, Melodies and Endings arranged into Construction Kits that can be assembled and mixed to create complete, seamless songs. The phrases were performed by Terry Robb, of Steve Miller, Buddy Guy and John Fahey fame, using an assortment of electric and acoustic guitars. These include a Martin 000-28, a 1920's Weissenborn lap slide, a Gibson B25 upright slide, a Laguna L-29, a Fender Duo Sonic, and a Fender Stratocaster. Both solid state and tube amps were used to achieve the appropriately fat and furious sound.
Hot Steel Blues is available in CD-ROM format for Akai/Emu, and Roland samplers. It retails for $199 and includes the Audio CD. It is also available as an Audio CD for $99.
